1868 – 1869 Shaikh ‘Ali bin Khalifa al-Khalifa, Al-Shoyoukh and Joint Chief of Bahrain and Al-Zubarrah. b. 1814, youngest son of Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa, Al-Shoyoukh and Joint Chief of Bahrain and Al-Zubarrah, by his second wife, a sister or daughter of ‘Isa bin Tarif. Succeeded on the deposition of his brother, 6th September 1868. m. (first) Shaikha Tajba bint Ahmad al-Khalifa, daughter of Shaikh Ahmad bin Salman bin Ahmad al-Khalifa. m. (second) Shaikha Om Khalid al-Khalifa. He was k. in battle with his brother’s forces, at Rifa’a, 30th August 1869 (bur. there), having had issue, fifteen sons:

1869 Shaikh Muhammad bin ‘Abdu’llah al-Khalifa, Al-Shoyoukh and Joint Chief of Bahrain and Al-Zubarrah. b. at Rifa’a Fort, 1817, son of Shaikh ‘Ali bin Khalifa al-Khalifa, Al-Shoyoukh and Joint Chief of Bahrain and Al-Zubarrah. Governor of Damman 1852-1861, and of Rifa’a 1869. Attacked and deposed his cousin from the chieftaincy, 30th August 1869. Deposed and exiled to India, 1st December 1869. Confined at Asirgarh, but later removed to Chunar. He d. at Chunar Fort, near Benares, India, 1877, having had issue, three sons:
