1822 - 1852 H.H. Sri Paduka Maulana Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din II Jamal ul-Alam ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamal ul-Alam, Sultan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. b. at Brunei, 1804, son of H.H. Al-Wasik Malik ul-Alam Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Jamal ul-Alam I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Taj ud-din, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, by his wife, H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Anak Nur Alam binti al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Khanz ul-Alam, educ. privately. Proclaimed as Sultan on the death of his grandfather in 1822, but kept from power by his uncle Raja Api. He subsequently fled to Pulau Keingaran with his mother, taking the regalia with him, there proclaimed as Sultan by his supporters and those who were disaffected from Muhammad Alam on account of his oppresive rule. He became undisputed sovereign in powr as well as in name, after his cousin was strangled to death at Chermin in December 1824. Returned from Keingaran to Brunei Town and formally invested with the Kris Si Naga, which his mother had secreted amongst her own possessions until then, 15th February 1826, but not formally installed or crowned as Yang di-Pertuan. Fled to Damaun in 1846 when Brunei Town was attacked by the Royal Navy in punishment for the murder of the Pangiran Bendahara Hashim. He subsequently returned to Brunei to conclude hostilities, but was subsequently impelled to recognise James Brook as undisputed Rajah of Sarawak, cede Labuan 18th December 1846, and conclude a Treaty of Friendship and Commerce with Britian 27th May 1847. m. (first) Y.A.M. Pangiran Istri, younger daughter of Pangiran Muda Anak Bahar bin Pangiran Maharaja Dinda Pangiran Nasir ud-din, by his wife, a daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Khanz ul-Alam ibni al-Marhum Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din, Sultan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (second) Y.M. Tuan Zaida, daughter of Y.M. Pengarah di-Gadong Tuan Laman Awang Sulaiman bin Tengku Saad, a descendant of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Ali Abdul Jalil Muazzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Abdul Jalil Alam ud-din Raayat Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Siak Sri Indrapura. m. (third) Sandalam. He d. from cancer of the mouth, at Istana Kampong Ayer, Brunei Town, 18th November 1852  (bur. there at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Khutbah Makam Di-Raja), having had issue, three sons and four daughters by junior wives:

1852 - 1885 H.H. Duli Yang di-Pertuan Sri Paduka Maulana Sultan Abdul Mumin ibni al-Marhum Sri Paduka Maulana Abdul Wahab, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. b. before 21st May 1788, as Pangiran Anak Abdul Mumin, eldest son of Y.A.M. Duli Pangiran Shahbandar Sahib ul-Bandar Bait ul-Karib Pangiran Anak Abdul Wahab ibni al-Marhum Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din, by his wife, Y.M. Pangiran Anak Babu Siti Lawiyah binti Pangiran Indira Mahkota Pangiran Anak Sulaiman, educ. privately. Proclaimed as Sultan on the death of Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din II following the refusal of Temenggong Taj ud-din to ascend the throne, 18th November 1852. m. (first) a daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Khanz ul-Alam ibni al-Marhum Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din, Sultan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (second) before 1852, after the death of his first wife, H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Anak Putri Zubaida, daughter H.H. Sri Paduka Maulana Sultan Omar Ali Saif ud-din II Jamal ul-Alam ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamal ul-Alam, Sultan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (third) a daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Jamal ul-Alam I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad Taj ud-din, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (fourth) 1883, a girl aged 15 years. He d. at Istana Kampong Ayer, Sultan Lama, Brunei, 29th May 1885, aged 100 Hijra years (bur. there at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Khutbah Makam di-Raja), having had issue.
