Prince Luíz de Orléans e Bragança, Prince of Brazil, Prince of Orléans-Braganza, by his wife, H.I.H. Princess Maria das Graças. Styled Prince of Grão Pará from birth. Assumed the title of Imperial Prince of Brazil together with the style of His Imperial Highness on the death of his father, 26th March 1920. Succeeded his grandmother as Head of the Imperial House of Brazil and Grand Master of the Imperial Orders of Dom Pedro I, Cross of Brazil, and of the Rose, 14th November 1921. Hon. Presdt. Inst. Historico de Petropolis 1938. Rcvd: Bailif GC of the Constantinian Order of St George and Sovereign Military Order of Malta. m. at Nymphenburg Castle, Munich, Bavaria, 19th August 1937, H.I.H. Princess Senhora Dona Maria Elisabeth Franziska Josepha Therese, Princess Consort of Brazil, Princess of Orléans-Braganza (b. at Nymphenburg Castle, Munich, 9th September 1914), née Princess of Bavaria, rcvd: Dame of the Orders of St Elizabeth and St Theresa of Bavaria, GC of the Constantinian Order of St George, and Dame of Justice of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, eldest daughter of Major-General H.R.H. Prince Franz Maria Luitpold of Bavaria, by his wife H.R.H. Princess Isabelle Antoinette Eleanore Nathalie Clementine, daughter of H.S.H. Charles Alfred Louis Rudolphe, Duke of Croÿ. Prince Senhor Dom Pedro Henrique Affonso Felipe Maria Miguel Gabriel Raphael Gonzaga de Orléans e Bragança, Prince and Head of the Imperial House of Brazil, Prince of Orléans-Braganza, by his wife, H.I.H. Princess Senhora Dona Maria Elisabeth Franziska Josepha Therese, Princess Consort of Brazil, educ. Colégio Santo Inácio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in France, and at the Technical University, Munich, Bavaraia, Germany. Qualified as an Engineer. Served as Chief Sec. to his father, Dom Pedro Henrique, 1967-1981. Succeeded on the death of his father as Head of the Imperial House of Brazil and Grand Master of the Imperial Orders of Pedro I, the Cross of Brazil and the Rose, and of the Imperial Military Orders of Our Lord Jesus Christ, São Bento d'Aviz and São Thiago da Espada, 5th July 1981.
