The Dangels, a girly garage pop band from Lexington, KY, who are (if not exactly defunct) on indefinite hiatus. The founding members were Erica Cefalo (vocals), Brooke Salisbury (vocals, accordion), Jessi Fehrenbach (vocals, bass guitar), Shannon Collins (vocals, guitar), and J. Todd Dockery (drums). They released one full length CD "7 Minutes in Heaven" and a song from that cd "Going Away Party" was featured on a bumbleBEAR Records compilation. The Dangels were active from approximately Januaray 2002 to March 2003. Brooke moved to Europe in June of 2002 and the Dangels continued to perform without her. Ben Allen from the Lexington band the Mad Shadows was often known to substitute on guitar in place of Shannon Collins when she couldn't make a show. Shannon is still officially a member of the band The Speedtrain. Erica now lives in Cincinnati and can be seen performing in the Cinci. band Montclaire. Jessi Fehrenbach formed Miss Kittytwister and her Hot Dogs with J. Todd Dockery, and Dockery also performs with the Smacks!.

Update!

Henry Earl mania sweeps the nation!

After his exposure on the television program, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and a widespread and enthusiastic web-based group of fans (just click his name above to see the "official" fan site and download the Dangels song) Henry Earl aka "James Brown", local hero to many Lextonians, is finally the star to the world at large we all knew he always was! What started out as an in-joke to the Dangels (most people in Lexington, if they know Henry, usually know him as James Brown as opposed to Henry Earl) now is a fad. Go figure.
