The author of around 20 small press collections of writings and/or drawings, many of which have been published under my own imprint Hanging Dog Productions, founded in 1996 to propagate not only my work but the work of others on the so-called fringe; yes, I am condemned.
As a visual artist I have presented five one man shows in the Kentucky area: Primitive Visions at the Outpost in Berea (1999), Mutants by Candlelight at Magic Beans (2000), Bloodwork at the Detour (2002), Guts In Uproar at the Gallerie Soleil (2003),the latter three all in Lexington, and Biological Diversity in Brooskville at the Teegarden Center for the Arts (2004). I have also exhibited with the Stuckists in England (London & Liverpool) and in the United States (New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, New Haven, and in Richmond and Lexington, Ky as well), a group with which I am affiliated, as much as I, in fact, affiliate. I have also exhibited in several non-Stuckist group shows such as the B Sides/B Film and Pen and Ink Drawings and Primitive Paintings of Oddballs and Freaks at the Cinderblock Gallery in Louisville, Ky. My work was chosen to be included in the 2002 Kentucky Folk Art of the 21st Century exhibition at the Kentucky Museum of Arts + Design. Most recently, with the Stuckists, I’ve exhibited in The Stuckists Punk Victorian exhibition, and consequently published in the book by the Walker National Art Museum in Liverpool, as well as, stateside, shutting down CBGB in NYC with the Addressing the Shadow and Making Friends with Wild Dogs: Remodernism show.
I perform and collaborate with Brian Manley in the Smacks!, as well as in Miss Kitty Twister & her Hot Dogs with long-time girlfriend, Jessi Ann Fehrenbach. The launching of a collective “all is vanity” label for Rock N Roll and other Dead Arts, Dog Whistle Records, the auditory leg of Hanging Dog Productions, took off with the late '05 release of the "Here Lieth the Smacks! Protected by the Ejaculation of Serpents" compact disc.
I continue to write, draw, and make music in central Kentucky, where I live with Jessi Ann Fehrenbach, and several cats. If you’ve read this far, I apologize. But at least I didn’t get into the third person routine.
